Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Names and case numbers submitted through a search tool pass to the outside company that runs it. That company processes the request and returns the result. Our systems do not log or keep the submitted terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We may retain an email long enough to prepare and send a response. Its contents are not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
A page request can automatically provide our servers with basic technical and usage details:
- The referring website, when one is reported
- The type of device and operating system in use
- Page-view timestamps
- The device's assigned IP address
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The browser name and version
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show patterns such as popular pages and points where visits end. Analytics providers combine this activity into traffic reports. Cookies can be blocked through browser controls, although doing so may change how some site features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner service
- Finding and correcting performance or technical problems
- Measuring which pages are useful and which could be improved
- Operating the site and maintaining reasonable load times
- Presenting advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
No database of dockets or personal case details is hosted, maintained, compiled, or sold here. Instead, the site directs readers to Chautauqua County District Court records through the district clerk, Kansas Judicial Branch CaseSearch, and other official channels. Visitor information is not used to create consumer reports or outside profiles, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes displayed on this site. A partner's privacy policy, rather than this policy, applies to information entered in its tool. Each partner chooses its own retention and disclosure practices, which are beyond our control. Read those terms before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to clerk pages, trial-court portals, statewide case systems, legal-aid organizations, or commercial search tools. Once an outside page opens, its privacy rules apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may follow activity between websites to select targeted ads. Any such tracking occurs through their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance
- Search partners processing a query submitted through their tool
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks serving ads on these pages
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards are used for the information collected. Even so, no internet-connected service can guarantee perfect security. Reasonable steps are taken to protect data, but the possibility of unauthorized access cannot be eliminated.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, contact us so it can be deleted promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights regarding personal data may arise under applicable Kansas privacy and consumer-protection law. The Kansas Open Records Act and Kansas Supreme Court Rules 22 and 25 concern access to government and court records; they do not govern visitor data held by a private website. At a minimum, you may:
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask what personal information is on file
- Opt out of certain processing activities
- Request deletion of your data
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised in the future. A changed version will appear here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically for current practices.
